Sooke Community Association
The Sooke Community Association (SCA) is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization with a rich history of service to Sooke and surrounding areas. Founded in 1935, the SCA was established by dedicated residents who sought to build a more connected and supportive community. For nearly 90 years, the SCA has continued this mission, supporting local initiatives, maintaining community facilities, and fostering a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere for all.
One of the SCA’s most cherished contributions is the Sooke Community Hall. Built in 1937, this historic hall has been a central gathering place for generations, hosting beloved events such as the Sooke Fall Fair, All Sooke Arts & Crafts Show, and countless community dances, fundraisers, and private celebrations.
In addition to the Community Hall, the SCA proudly owns and manages other community landmarks, including Fred Milne Park, a popular location for soccer, slow pitch and community events; the scenic Sooke River Campground, a go-to destination for locals and visitors; and Art Morris Park, a recreational space featuring softball fields, tennis and pickleball. Together, these facilities provide essential spaces for recreation, celebration, and connection, ensuring that Sooke remains a thriving and welcoming place to live.
Through our continued work, the Sooke Community Association remains committed to preserving Sooke’s heritage and supporting the needs of our residents, staying true to the community-focused vision of our founding members. Join us in making a difference in Sooke!
